As an Account Director, you will serve as the primary marketing partner and strategic advisor to our clients, guiding them with long-term vision and direction. Your role will encompass understanding the intricacies of each client's business and industry, identifying growth opportunities, and crafting innovative solutions to meet their needs. You will drive the overall strategic direction of the accounts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and agency capabilities. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in setting the tone for account management within the agency and will be responsible for ensuring the profitability and success of each account. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Agency resource and subject matter expert on clients’ businesses, key issues, competitive landscapes and industry trends.
  • Build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients of all levels.
  • Ability to manage overall agency services and activities across multiple account(s) and internal teams.
  • Provide strategic recommendations that are rooted in industry expertise and integration into the client’s business needs.
  • Initiate/contribute to conversations around client’s long-term business needs and planning.
  • Lead overarching strategic thinking for accounts with an integrative, cross-department approach.
  • Develop specific, measurable client business objectives to evaluate agency work.
  • View client strategic goals in a broader business context.
  • Ensure team collaboration and foster positive conflict resolution among all agency departments.
  • Keeps executive leadership continually advised on the overall health of the client's business including client satisfaction and profitability.
  • Actively participate in the management and training of account team members.
  • Ensure account team members are challenged in developing their skill set.
  • Provide account team members with a clear understanding of performance expectations, consistent constructive feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Initiate long-term projects for teams that will contribute to greater agency revenue.
  • Oversees and leads the development of client-facing legal contracts, SOWs, and other documents for program execution.
  • Collaborate with finance and management to draft, negotiate, and reconcile client agreements.
  • Ensure proper team resource management and adherence to contract terms.
  • Manage each account in a manner that produces profitability for the agency through effective resource allocation.
  • Demonstrate dedication to the company mission and lead by example to ensure reporting teams live out company values.
  • Encourage transparent internal communication across the agency.
  • Contribute to new business pitches when necessary.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Behaves as a selfless leader throughout the agency who inspires and motivates agency teams

  • Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing or Business related preferred
  • 8-10 years marketing communications experience
  • At least 8 years advertising agency experience required
  • 5+ years experience leading teams
  • 2+ years experience managing direct reports
  • Understanding of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Suite (excel, word, powerpoint)
  • Experience with project management tools such as Workamajig

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Typically working in an office with occasionally working outdoors on location at client sites.

Travel requirements - In town travel necessary, occasional overnight travel needed.
